Great for Calgary. Hopefully other towns will take on this initiative.
The one bad thing I see here is did the parents or guardians need to just complete the course and their child is in. Or did they have to achieve a certain mark on the course in order for their child to participate?
It'd make no sense if there wasn't a minimum score you had to achieve. Not necessarily by a written test by a verbal test also.
I realize this is new so the bumps in the road will be many but having a course without evaluating the participant in the end is pointless.
